Boston- Part 3 of 4

Our family of 4 on the subway-
There are no words to describe how good Hunter
was on this trip. He sat in that stroller and let
us tote him all over the city. He is the sweetest baby!
We feel so blessed to have Hunter and Emily!
Jennifer, Ashley, and Kenzie on the T
Mr. Bartley's Burgers was featured on
'Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.' We love the Food Network
and wanted to try out this hot spot by Harvard, but the
line was stretching SOOOO long out the door. We
decided a picture with the sign would suffice. :0)
We headed over to a really yummy spot called Oggi Gourmet
in Harvard Square. They had pizza for Emmy
and burgers for us--perfect! Hunter snuck in a quick nap.

When he woke up, he and Emmy sat up on the table
with their arms around each other. So, so sweet!
Next, we had to take Hunter to meet John Harvard, the university's first benefactor. Tourists rub his shoe for luck. Once home, we did a little research and found out that Harvard students actually urinate on that same shoe that all the tourists wait in line to touch. EWW! Don't worry, I'm a bit of a germaphobe, so I had an antibacterial wipe whipped out 37 seconds after the picture, even without knowing that little 'tidbit' of information.
We've had a thing for accordians since Brad learned to play a few songs on one in college. Having the
music down in the subway makes your wait for
a train much more entertaining.
Another statue.....
Really, she just LOVED the statues this trip!
She kept twisting her hands like this for
all the pictures.....silly girl! :0)
We ate at a little hole in the wall called Remington's for lunch one day. They had excellent seafood chowder. Yum!
And Emily mixed up this little number after
finishing her cheese sticks. Water, lettuce, lemon,
tomatoes from her marinara sauce, and french fries.
And. she. tried. it.
(Said it was "delicious," too!)

Although we are not big baseball fans, we had to
truck it out to Fenway Park, home of the Boston
Red Sox. We missed this spot on our last trip, so we
couldn't come to Boston again and not see it!

We also visited King's Chapel which we missed
last trip. This was the site of the first Anglican church in
New England. It was originally a wooden building built in 1688.
The stone structure was built around it beginning in 1749 and the
wooden structure was removed through the church's windows.
There are "box pews" for seating on the inside, and families, such
as the Reveres, would pay a pew rent for these.

The famous Democratic Donkey at Old City Hall
and the "Stand in Opposition" footprints
The Old South Meeting House where colonists gathered to protest a tax and started a revolution with the Boston Tea Party.
The view on our walk back to Ashley
and Jennifer's apartment.
The Boston Opera House in the Theater District-- You can see this out of A and J's living room window. How neat! They were showing Mary Poppins while we were there, but we didn't get to see it. Emily kept singing "Just a spoonful of sugar...." every time we walked by! :0)
