Boston- Part 2 of 4

After making our trek through the Public Garden,
we made it to Cheers! We sat upstairs in the set
bar this trip.
Emily was fascinated with all the "statues" this
year. She asked me to get her picture with this
one downstairs in the real Cheers bar.
Mac-n-cheese and a juice box for baby girl.
That precious girl definitely has her daddy's eyes!
We're thinking little man is going to look
more like Mommy.
Emily snapped this one of us in the park.
Emily found a little snowball that she carried around
like a pet. She told us she needed to hold it in her
mittens to keep it warm. She took it all the way back
to the hotel and put it in our little freezer. :0)
Faneuil Hall- This is one of my favorite spots
in Boston. We learned some new trivia about the building
on our trip. If you look closely, you can see that this building
has a grasshopper weather vane on top. During the Revolution
period, knowledge of the type of animal on the weather vane was
used as a test of whether or not people were British spies.
Just past Faneuil Hall is the Holocaust Memorial. This
memorial consists of 6 glass towers, each representing a
different death camp. (left side of my picture) On each tower
are white numbers, each number representing a person
who died in the camp. This memorial was powerful and
made me more aware of exactly HOW MANY people were killed.
The towers stretch up so high.
And the numbers are so tiny...ALL the way up the towers. It was mind-numbing to think about each number representing a real person.
This was one of the few times Emily agreed to sit in a stroller on our trip. We had major 3-year-old fits over this stroller refusal throughout the trip. That almost 30 pound child was carried lots of places around that city. Oh, the spoiling we're willing to do for our girl!Another "statue" along the way. Emily wanted her picture with "the pirate." :0)

We stopped in at the famous Mike's Pastry for some coffee to warm us up. And Emily really needed one of those cupcakes....."the pink one!"
This cigar shop had the funniest store front--
this statue (wonder where Emily gets her fascination?!)
and an actual smoking cigar sticking out from the building.
Beautiful skyline
We love the subway!
Emily loves Son!! She was soooo excited
to see Ashley and Jennifer's cat. She became attached
to him while he lived at our house. When the plane touched
down in Boston, Emily's first words were, "Is it time to go
see Son now?!" :0)
Baby Kenzie!!! Kenzie was born while they were living
with us, but we had not seen her since she was only weeks
old. She is about 2 1/2 months older than Hunter, so they
had tons of fun together! That is the sweetest, smiliest girl!
Ashley and Brad enjoyed a little Pho Paseur Vietnamese cuisine back at their apartment one night. They had some sort of raw beef that they put in hot broth with veggies, and Brad has been craving it ever since!
