Story Time and Food Lady

I have two new gigs I forgot to tell you about....

First, I am now one of the story time ladies at the local library. I'm in a women's club here in town, and we all must serve on a charitable committee. There were lots of choices, but when I saw the opportunity to work with kids by reading to them, I jumped on the chance. It's the perfect job for me! Today was my first read, and it was so much fun! I was nervous since I hadn't worked with kids in a while and especially since it was the preschool age. I have absolutely no experience with that age. As soon as I got there, everything started coming back to me, and I had so much fun! There was a small group today, so we all huddled in the floor and pulled puppets and books from my bag. We sang and danced and read... and laughed a lot.

The other new "job" I have is being a food lady at church. This job is so far from perfect for me, that it makes me laugh. I can't remember the last time I cooked a meal here at our house. Brad does all the cooking because he's so good at it and enjoys it. So the fact that I am in charge of food for one of our KIT teams could be the biggest goof-up in the history of food ladies! Thankfully, I don't have to do all the cooking. I (along a friend who's also new to this) am in charge of organizing meals for those that are sick, being discharged from the hospital, have had a death in the family, or just had a baby. Our KIT team rolls around every 4 weeks, so I won't have to do this except for about once a month. All I can say is..... don't get sick during my week! There's no telling what you'll end up with! :)
