Emmy's Seventh Month

I'm behind again. Emily turned 8 months old the Friday before last, so I guess it's time I record all her memorable 7 month moments. (I've got to get better!)

To begin, Emily's seventh month was her cutest yet! I say that after every month! :) This was definitely the month when Em's personality came busting out! She is the happiest baby, and this month, she's shown us that she's a baby on the go. This girl never stops!

Back at the end of August when she first turned seven months, Emily figured out how to get from a sitting position down onto her stomach. Then at the beginning of September, she began clapping to show us she was excited. A few days later she realized her hands could make a lot of loud noise while she was clapping, so that made her new trick all the better! She became VERY active, constantly moving, going from her sitting position to leaning over to her stomach. She began playing ball with Belle. (I know you think I'm crazy, but she really does!) Belle drops the ball in front of Emily, and Emily picks it up, puts it in her mouth (of course), and then tosses it about a foot in front of her. It's so sweet watching them play! She has also perfected her tongue trick, and we've been able to capture it on camera. When she grins, the tongue comes out, especially when she sees her Big Daddy coming.

She still has an EXTREMELY expressive face! She turns her lips into an 'O' and gets so excited when she sees someone she knows. She is babbling, and her little voice is the sweetest thing. She has started eating a few bites of baby food at lunch each day, but she's not a big fan. She still goes to bed late, but she does sleep a little later, so I can't complain. She's so fun, and we are loving every minute with her!
Straining her neck to see Daddy
(She LOVES him!)
Dumping her toys out and digging through
to find her favorites
Is that some hair you see standing up on top
of her head? Yes, we finally have enough on
top to get a little case of "bed head!"
(Also notice the ever present mosquito bite on her
cheek. That thing took forever to go away!)

The first picture we managed to get of her tongue trick
(She did this as she was telling Big Daddy bye one day.)

Clapping
Clapping plus the tongue trick

Playing the piano
(Notice how she swipes her hand at it. She doesn't
exactly have the technique down yet.)
Playing with her McDonald's Happy Meal toy
(Happy Meal toys always seems to be her
favorite ones!)

I think this is the scariest toy ever, but she LOVES
it. We call it Wolvy the Wolverine. In this picture she
was using Wolvy to play the piano.
