Moonlighting

Brad had his first moonlighting gig this weekend. He's working an ER about 40 minutes away-- started Friday evening and will end tomorrow morning at 7:00. We have really missed him around here the last 3 nights, but somebody's gotta work to pay the bills! I'm sure not helping out much! :) He has seen some CRAZY stuff in that ER this weekend and as of church time tonight had only gotten about 3 hours of sleep plus some cat naps here and there. Luckily tomorrow is a holiday for him, and he can come home and crash into bed.

Before leaving for his marathon work weekend, he tried to cut a path through our yard. It's been raining here almost every day for a week, so things got a little soggy outside. The ground was drying out, and Brad was hoping to get our yard done before he left town, but (of course) the mower had other plans. Emily and I watched him mow a strip around the edge and then do something to the spark plugs, and that was about it for the show. Our mower is on it's last leg, and Brad had to give up until he had more time to deal with it. (This mower was "thrown in" when we bought our first house in Jackson. It currently sports a bright blue towel attached as handle padding with duct tape. You also start the engine by touching together 2 pieces of wire he's rigged up. Seriously--sad!) Although the yard work didn't go as well as hoped, Emily really enjoyed watching her daddy in action.
Brad works so hard for us, and I'm so thankful he's willing to do extra jobs so I can stay home with Emily. He is a wonderful daddy and husband. We love you, Brad!
