Brad had a conference in Sandestin, so Emily and I decided we should definitely tag along. Brad attended meetings in the mornings and then met up with us after lunch each day. We had a blast and enjoyed getting to spend so much time together.
We stayed at a place called The Village at Baytowne Wharf. A village is the perfect was to describe it. There were several huge buildings of condos surrounded by gorgeous grounds and then a "village" with shopping and restaurants. We spent a lot of time walking around the village and checking out all the sights.
Dinner at Rum Runners the first night we arrived-
We ate out on the dock and watched people
fly overhead on the zip lines.

We found the fountain of youth while we were
walking one afternoon. We decided to dip Emily
in it so she'd stay our baby forever! :)
that owners have a $1300 a month fee just
to keep the grounds up!
This is the only picture I have of our condo. We had
just gone out to Seagards Prime Steak and Seafood.
We had to listen to a talk on some medicine... I think
it had to do with diabetes????
and a dinner for the new MAFP president. Here we
are with Ashley and Jennifer at the auction.
Ashley had placed a bid on the birdhouse and was
trying to divert the competition. He did a good job,
because he and Jen came home with the birdhouse!
We bid on 2 things and won both. This was the
first time I'd ever done this, and I must say it was
fun and a bit addictive.... :)
Jennifer's mom kept Emily during the auction and
dinner. This was her first time to stay with a non
family member, so we elected her as honorary
grandmother. She said Emily was really good but got
a little heartbroken at the end of the night from
wanting her mommy. Thank you so much, Mrs. Peggy!
After dinner with Ashley (fellow resident), Jennifer,
Rob (recently graduated resident), and Ashleigh-
We spent a little time at the pool, and Emily is
really starting to enjoy the water. She played
on the edge of the pool for a while and then
kicked her feet while I "swam" her around the pool.
On our way out of town, we made a special trip to
The Crab Trap. Brad and I were engaged in Destin
and went to this restaurant on our one year anniversary.
We decided to go back with Emily. She was really excited
about the crab we ordered! Our trip here was the
closest we got to the beach on our beach trip! :)

That's so exciting! I'm glad you had a good time! Especially without the grandparents! I LOVE Emily's bow! how do you get it to stay in?? My mom used tooth paste when I was little, but they said it would start to foam! Doesn't that sound like something she would do!!:)
great pictures. makes me so excited to go to the beach.
Oh Angie... she is SO stinkin' cute!!!! I know EXACTLY where you guys were... we go to that little town to eat sometimes when we're there! Glad you had a great trip and loved the pics!

I am so jealous right now, I am dying to get to the beach. Emily looks adorable in her swim suit.

Great pictures from the trip. You look so fabulous to just be six months had a baby. Wow! Emily's photos in the swimsuit were really cute. Charlie and I drove over to Baytowne Wharf this summer. It's very neat.
