Busy Weekend

This weekend we had company! Taylor, Britt, Shelley, and Tess drove into town from Nashville and Birmingham to pay us a little visit, and we had a lot of fun hanging out together. I definitely wasn't the hostess with the mostess. Taylor had to go with Brad to the grocery store as soon as he arrived to pick up our food for the weekend. There was no home-cooked meal that night either. We all ate pizza while Tess enjoyed her ravioli...... REALLY enjoyed her ravioli. :)
We had a lazy Saturday morning, which was really nice. Tess loved "kissing" Emily.
That afternoon the guys played a little basketball outside. We had beautiful weather, and it was so nice to soak up the sun. Because Shelley forgot to pack any extra shoes, she wore my tennis shoes. As she and Britt were playing basketball, I decided that was the closest I would ever get to being athletic.... having my shoes on someone who was athletic! :)
While we (and by we I mean they) played basketball, Tess drove her car down the driveway. She is such a cutie! She smiled and laughed like this all weekend long. She has the sweetest personality!
Saturday night, we made a fire out past Brad's parents' house. I wanted Emily to experience her first bonfire, so we swaddled her in blankets and ran her out to the fire. After a few photos, we wrapped her back up and sent her back inside. Thanks, Mr. Ronnie and Mrs. Kathy for watching Emily and Tess so we could all go out that night.
By the way.... Britt and Shelley are expecting another baby in July! And this time around, they'll be buying BLUE!! Tess is so cute, and I can't wait to see how sweet their baby boy will be.
We finished off our weekend with a Sunday afternoon football game. My mom was VERY willing to keep Emily at our house while we headed out to the park. The guys were cutting up before the game, but once things got started, they got serious. They were even planning out plays in a huddle before each drive. The game lasted 3 hours, and I thought my toes might freeze off by the time we were leaving. What happened to the sun and warm weather from Saturday?

the loyal (and COLD) wives :)

I don't think we've had a weekend quite that busy in a while. We loved having our good friends stay with us and can't wait until their call weekends, etc. line up again so we can plan another trip!

How fun! I don't remember Britt looking like that. Hmmm... But Shelley looks exactly the same. Did she beat them all during the basketball game? =)
