Big New World

Sunday afternoon we ventured out into the big world with Emily. It was the first time she'd been out in a public place since she was born. We planned an outing to the park since germy people wouldn't be close enough to be any threat. Since we were having nearly 70 degree weather, we thought this might be a safe way to venture out into the world a bit. :)

Brad met Scott, his brother, and his dad to get in a game of football. Emily slept tucked inside her stroller most of the time, but I got to enjoy watching them slide around in the mud, trying to outrun each other. Valerie and I served as the official cheerleaders on the side lines. Hopefully Emily will want to take over as cheerleader really soon.

We enjoyed our day out in the sun and hope there are more of those good weather days in our near future!
I didn't realize until AFTER the photo that Brad had
a giant mouthful of sunflower seeds for
our "First Outing" shot.

That's Emily tucked snuggly inside her stroller.

They were a little tired after the big game....
and they've been a little sore ever since!
(Notice Brad's dad's shirt-- so true of him!!!)

Tyler bravely dove for several passes. Who knew
you could get so dirty playing flag football?!

Tyler, I was very impressed with your willingness to get dirty. I am offering you a full ride to join my team in Oxford when you graduate high school. I am the same guy who recently offered a guy a scholarship for snapping the ball to me in my office. It was quite possible the best snap I have seen snapped in a coaches office in a long time. My text messages are full at this time. Please e-mail me your decision at hnutt@olemiss.edu

It's so nice to get out isn't it?? :) I never commented about tummy time... here's what my ped said, and it has been great... he said don't even worry about it at first... he said to put her on her tummy and just pick her up as soon as she gets fussy. She'll gradually go longer and longer and now Grace actually likes tummy time for the most part... I just get down there with her and talk to her, make goofy faces, etc. and then we let her watch TV sometimes now too. She rolled over 8 times two weeks ago which is pretty early, so I think my ped's method was just fine and a lot less stressful!

Sounds like a fun first outing!
And my friend Tracy says the feedblitz site works - I haven't tried it yet.

My first outing with James was TJMaxx at just 10 days old. And when Lilah was just 4 days old we went to WalMart (there is no good shopping places in Brazil) I get cabin fever quite easy, so it was helpful for me to get out of the house. Don't worry they were tucked away for no one to touch or see for that matter! Glad you got some fresh air, looked like fun!

Aren't outings wonderful, they always helped me not feel so stir crazy. Glad everyone is doing well.

It's so sweet to experience Emily's "firsts"...keep enjoying and taking the pictures. I can't believe how good her color is. She is a pretty little girl. And your hair is so cute wavy!
