Another Post About Emily :)

Big surprise.... it's another post about our baby girl! I'll eventually go back into the big world out there, but for now, I'm hanging out in baby land. All of our attention has been focused on Emily, so it's yet another post dedicated to her!

Yesterday we went for Emily's first doctor's visit. She was very good while we were there, and she had a giant surprise in store for us. Emily has been very busy growing. She had grown 2 inches since birth and weighed 8 pounds 13 ounces-- up over a pound since birth! We were shocked!



This weekend we began work on Emily's baby book. The first page we tried to conquer was the hand print and foot print page. We had my mom take pictures of us trying to do this because we had a feeling it would provide some comical moments. We were right. Emily wasn't bad. She didn't scream at all. She did however sleep through the whole process (daytime=sleep time), so she was as limp as a rag. She was flopping all over the place while we tried to make prints on the page. I laughed through the whole process. Most of the prints turned out really well (Way to go, Brad!), and we have some really great memories!




I have to leave you with one last story. This morning, Brad took Emily to the nursery to change her diaper after I fed her. I snuggled back into bed and was out cold by the time he returned to our room. He woke me to tell me that she had pooped all over her gown, and he had to change her into a new one. He told me he put her in one she had never worn before... a hooded one. I sleepily gave him an, "Okay." Then I started coming to because Emily doesn't have a hooded gown. I opened my eyes and found Brad holding our little angel. He had taken a regular gown and stretched the neck back over her head. He was completely serious and thought this was really a hood. I laughed hysterically for the next 15 minutes or so, wondering what we'll end up doing to this poor child as she grows up!!
