I Gave In!

Because we're nursing, the pediatrician recommended that we not use a pacifier until about 1 month. The lactation specialist recommended two weeks, because Emily has been a very good nurser. I, however, was recommending that we hold off much longer.... maybe forever. You see, I was one of those children who had a pacifier well past kindergarten and sucked my thumb beyond the time when it was socially acceptable, so I was hoping Emily would have another soothing method. On Saturday in the car, after what seemed like an eternity of screaming in her car seat, I gave in. I popped the pacifier in her mouth, and things got peacefully quiet! I didn't think I'd give in at three weeks, but I did. Today, however, she refuses to use it, spitting it out each time I offer it....

Pacifiers are great! Don't feel guilty! She'll still nurse great! She'll learn to keep it in and you'll love it, especially at restaurants. I used to worry about it and when I would take it away from him, but really, who cares!? :) I'll call you soon! Maybe tomorrow.

Aren't those pacifiers great!?

I've been thinking and thinking about reading Grisham. What book should I start with?
