Emily had her first pajama party this week. Her K and Gran spent the night (different nights... grandmothers don't like to share!) this week to give me some extra help. There wasn't much they could do during the night, because all this girl wants to do is nurse, nurse, nurse. They had plenty to do during the morning hours though. They cuddled and played while I got in a few extra hours of sleep. They even did some laundry and cleaning while they were here!
I still haven't figured out any patterns in Emily's sleeping and eating schedule, but I suppose two week olds don't know or care about a schedule or patterns. She did do a much better job of sleeping last night. (She's been really confused on the day/awake and night/asleep thing!) Last night I got 3 straight hours, 2 feedings in a row. Yippee for uninterrupted sleep!!! :)
Both my mom and mother-in-law have been great to help us the past two weeks. Mrs. Kathy comes almost every morning to hold her girl while I get some extra shut-eye, and my mom comes most every day after work to dote on Emily while I hang out with Brad and finish up any household tasks. It has been really nice having family so close by to keep us going around here!
Yesterday was an exciting day at our house. Emily's umbilical cord fell off, and we noticed that her eyelashes are starting to grow. What a big day for us! She's still a champion pooper, and every time we change her diaper, Brad hovers above the changing table and reminds her that she has just pooped into another 40 cent diaper. He's been very conscious of how many diapers and wipies we're going through around here!
We're doing well and hope all of you are too. We hope everyone has a great weekend!

she is so precious!!!! sounds like you are doing great and you have good help. :)
looks like things are going really well. i too am blessed to have lots of family around to help. don't know what we'd do without it.
=) First of all, the 40 cent diaper thing really made me laugh. That is so funny!
And I feel so bad for you to hear you get excited over 3 straight hours of sleep. Oh my goodness...
She looks great. Love ya!
Hang in there, the sleep gets better. I'm so glad you have family to help out, it makes such a big difference. Love you guys.
She is just beautiful Angie! And I saw 2 outfits on her that Grace also wore as a newborn! So cute! Don't even think about a schedule yet... Grace is 2 1/2 months and I'm just starting to see some signs of a schedule... it can be very frustrating at first for us teachers who like organization, but you eventually learn to just go with the flow and hope for the best! She really is adorable!!! And I hear ya about the 40 cent diapers!! We have a pooping champ over here as well!! Love you!!!
Oh my gosh, she looks so sweet all cuddled up in her pink blankie! By the way, check out my blog - it may save you a little money on those 40 cent diapers!
SO CUTE! I know the grandmothers are eating her up!
she is super cute angie. you could always switch to cloth diapers....I think they still make them right?
=)
I love having pajama parties with my sweet lttle grandbaby! Maybe when she gets a little older, we can start a tradition of having a weekly pajama party at my house, and you and Brad can have a "date night" out. That sounds like so much fun! Love you, Mrs. Kathy
Don't the grandmothers look so happy! Glad you've got good help. She's a doll.
