Quest for the Perfect Nursery
Ever since we found out we were having a girl, I've been doing little things to get the nursery ready for our Emily. We've had a lot of fun shopping and trying to find what we thought was just the right fit for us. We drove everywhere in search of furniture and ended up getting the crib, changing table, and dresser at a store here in town and our chair and ottoman at an old school house (converted to a furniture store) about an hour away. Brad did a great job getting the bed and changing table put together. I don't think I was much help. I was mainly there for moral support! :)

Once the furniture was in place, it was time to look for the right bedding. Brad thought he had found the perfect theme, but I wasn't too keen on a camouflage room for our little girl.
When we weren't able to find just what we were wanting, my mom agreed to help me make the bedding and curtains. We got lots of fabric samples, and I think I finally have it narrowed down. These are all the swatches from which I had to choose. By the way, we found a fabric outlet about 15 minutes out of town that sells all this fabric for $5.99 a yard! What a great deal!
I even bought a few canvases and have started some paintings for the nursery. I'm not sure what got into me... the hormones must make me feel more creative. I'll make sure to post again once we have made something out of all this fabric. So far, my mom thinks we can handle doing all the ideas I've thrown out. It's a good thing she's an experienced sewer! I can't wait to see it all put together!

Isn't doing the nursery SO much fun! I love the fabric too! It is going to look great!
can't wait to see how it turns out. the fabric is really cute, so i'm sure it will be great! you're so creative anyway, you can definitely pull this off. maybe you can send some creative juices my way. poor andrew's room is still a guest room.
Decorating the nursery is so much fun and I just love your fabric choices. It's going to be really neat to see the end result.
Cute stuff and way to go on avoiding the camo! :) I can't wait to see your finished nursery, although I know it will make me feel so jealous of your creativity and a little sad that I haven't gotten to use any pink here in boy world. :)
Love the fabric! Can't wait to see the finished room. What is this about painting? Very impressive!!
Beautiful!!! Looking forward to seeing the end result
