We've been busy spinning our wheels lately. I'm not exactly sure what we've been getting accomplished, but I feel like we've been running from one thing to the next. I'm hoping this week will be a little calmer, because my house needs some serious attention. The laundry is done, but it's all piled on the couch, and I'd really like to be able to sit down again! My ironing stack is higher than I'd like to admit. (I hate ironing, so this is always last on my "to do" list.) We have company coming in this weekend (Rebecca and Eric!!) and 20 or so people from church coming for dinner the following weekend. I really need to get myself in gear!
I feel like I'm behind in updating on our life, so I've tried to get some pictures of what's been going on around here.
First and foremost, I am 27 weeks pregnant. The time is flying by, and I feel like I need to get some things done before Emily sneaks up on us. I keep waiting for this nesting phase to kick in, but so far, I've seen nothing! Brad is getting really excited about having a little girl, which makes me even more excited, too! I'm feeling great besides the regular back and stomach pains. I definitely have the pregnant "swagger" now when I walk!

I've tried to do a little fall planting to get me in the spirit. The weather has been beautiful here. It's warmed up quite a bit over the past few days, so I'm hoping those cooler fall temperatures will return soon.

I know you might think I'm crazy, but I truly believe Belle and Beau know that something is inside my tummy. They sit on it and cuddle up to it all the time (especially Beau). Beau thinks my belly is a new booster seat to help him see better out of the car window. He props up on it whenever we go for a ride. He'll be really disappointed when it starts shrinking back down in January!
(Apparently I wear this gray t-shirt way too much around
the house. I'm wearing it in a LOT of pictures!)

After we got back from vacation last month, our air conditioner gave us a little excitement. Something got stopped up somewhere (???), and it started overflowing. We didn't realize it had happened until late one night when I went to lock the door and water squirted out from under the wood floors and splashed up onto my feet. Brad's dad rushed over with a shop vac, air pressure tank, and some tools, and things were back to normal in no time. I was worried that our floors would be ruined, but after leaving fans on them for a while, they seem to be fine.

We're also pleased to say that our last major house renovation has been completed. Our kitchen countertops were installed last week, and I'm loving them. Now every wall and ceiling has officially been painted, and once the kitchen door gets a coat of white, the brushes are going up for a very long while! Brad hung new lights in the kitchen and even redid the cabinet above the microwave when I wanted it moved higher. He added some trim to dress it up, and I was so proud of his woodworking skills!

Now that all the big projects are done, he's getting to focus on catching up on things at work. Every night he comes home and props up in the chair. He spends a few hours updating patient notes on the computer and dictating patient discharge information into the phone. I'm SO THANKFUL he can do these things from home, otherwise I'd never see him! He has his first year boards coming up on November 2nd, so he's been trying to get some studying in during his loads of free time. (Ha!) As I'm writing this, he's outside pressure washing the house with bleach cleaner, so it's not looking like he'll get in any good study time today!

Hope everyone is enjoying the fall season setting in. Time will be changing before we know it!

Wow, you guys have had a lot going on! You look so cute with your little pregnant belly! The kitchen looks awesome by the way!!!
Love your kitchen! So pretty! Countertops make all the difference in the world, don't they?? You look adorable!!
Ok. I mean this...PLEASE leave all of your ironing and I will do it when we get there! I want to be able to help...and that will be the perfect way! My feelings will be hurt, if you don't let me help or if you call your family in for assistance before we get there! Can't wait to see you guys!
boy, you guys have been busy! i am loving your kitchen, by the way. it's so beautiful--as is the rest of the house, but i'm a sucker for a good kitchen. that's probably because i don't really like mine very much. glad things are going well. hope your back doesn't get too bad, but if it does, physical therapy worked wonders for me!
Ok. Sadly enough, having the time to iron and clean house is VERY relaxing for me! Although, it does tend to stress Eric out! :) I would still love for you to take me up on the offer...it would mean a lot to me to be able to help since I don't live close enough to help more often!
LOVE the kitchen!! It is so pretty. We need new countertops in the worst way maybe this will help inspire me to actually do it.
I bought mums today. Now I just have to plant them. I was inspired by your pics.
Wow. Big update.
Love the booster seat for the dog. I laughed out loud.
And kitchen looks great.
btw, db is my friend Donna from high school. =)
Girl you are looking so cute. Rachel email me some pics of your visit so I had to check out your blog! I can't believe how far along you are all of the sudden. Hang in there bc we know it gets pretty hard to sleep, walk, breathe, etc.....:)
The kitchen is beautiful. Enjoy these last few "lazy" weeks because life will soon be changing! Take care of yourself.
