Pappy's 90th Birthday Party

My grandfather (mom's dad) turned 90 on May 12th, so we all got together to throw a big party for his big day. Can you imagine all you've seen and done by the time you turn 90?!

We grilled out at my sister's house here in town and presented him with a very big present. My mom and her sister came up with the idea of getting him a plane ticket to go and visit his only grandson and his family. (My aunt will travel with him.) He was so touched and even teared up after it sunk in. He and my grandmother were completely shocked! He was so sweet and said, "Mary, will you be alright by yourself for that long?" He told us we had really surprised him because he dreamed we had all gotten him a new comforter and matching pillows for his bed. :0) We also stocked him up with all the required travel size containers and snack food for his trip. My sweet MIL got him a carry-on bag for all his gear. I would love to be a fly on the wall and watch him that day!

Pappy is a very special man to us, and we are so thankful that he's had 90 great years!

I LOVE Pappy! Just can't believe he's 90. He certainly doesn't look or act 90! K
