A Reminder

One of my oldest friends came into town yesterday, and I got to spend a little time with her and her family today. Her precious granddaddy passed away, so while the occasion was not a happy one, it was nice to see "old friends" and catch up a little. I heard Jill telling someone that she didn't really remember a time when we weren't friends, and I thought that was a great way to describe how far back we go. She and her mom mentioned how they already felt like they knew about Emily and what was going on in our lives because of the blog. Even though Mrs. Alice is in North Carolina and Jill is in D.C., the blog still kept a current connection between us. Quite honestly, I sometimes forget that other people even keep up with my blog. I love documenting our little family's life in this way, but I often forget that it's keeping a link between us and loved ones and friends all across the United States. Hearing Jill and Mrs. Alice talk about checking it made me feel good. It's so nice to know that someone loves us enough to check in on our day-to-day and see what's happening. It's also a great reminder that there is a big world out there beyond our current here and now. We've been so busy lately that I've found myself forgetting everything beyond feed Emily, nap, pack boxes, shelf paper at the new house, doctor visit to check on the new baby, etc, etc, etc. :0)

So....thanks to all of you out there who care enough to check in on us. We cherish all our friends and family and feel blessed beyond measure with all the relationships we have.

And Jill and Mrs. Alice....I'm so glad we had some time to be together. I'll try to keep the updates coming a little more often! ;0)
