Daddy Saves the Day

Emily is 21 months old now, and I think she is a very typical toddler girl. She's laughing and chattering one moment, and the next moment, she falls to the floor crying, "No, Mommy!" Even with the 'Terrible Twos' setting in, I still think she is the sweetest, most fun little being ever!

These pictures were taken at dinner a few weeks back. Emily was sorting through her vegetable soup, being very careful not to actually get any good for you food into her mouth. (I have to say, though, that eating is getting a little better with each passing week!) All of a sudden, her bib got on her nerves and she started tugging and crying "Off!".....

A stroke of genius struck Brad. He got up from the table, went to the bib drawer, and returned to the table wearing his own bib. Emily looked up at him, grinned, and resumed her vegetable soup sorting. :) That was it. The fit was over. Way to go, Daddy!

I had to include this picture from later that night. She has started laying down in the floor, straightening out her arms and legs, and.....just laughing. For some reason, she thinks it's the funniest thing. Sometimes she'll pretend to go to sleep, but usually she just laughs at herself.

After getting into pj's, baby girl came dragging this ginormous bag of candy into the living room. She had found the Halloween trick-or-treating candy in the pantry floor, and she lugged that huge bag into the living room. She told me, "Ope, pease" (open please). It took a lot of effort to get that bag, so I gave her a piece of candy. Only one, though.....I'm not a TOTAL softy! :)

Here she was telling me that she could only have "Just one."

Oh, this girl keeps me laughing. I'm sure all of you aren't as amused by these stories as I am, but maybe some family members out there will appreciate them. :)
