Growing up, I remember my mom always making homemade chocolate chip cookies. We didn't do slice and bake. It was always the real deal at our house. I remember the metal bowl and the spoon with the wooden handle. I remember the big mixer and the perfectly golden (buttery!) cookies fresh from the oven.
Now that I have Emily, I want to pass on that same cookie making tradition to her. I know she won't grow up and remember all the fabulous dinners I had on the table each night, but I do want her to remember all the fun we had baking up yummy sweets together.
We began our chocolate chip cookie tradition on July 2nd, and I believe we're going to have many great baking sessions ahead of us! I think my girl appreciates that homemade taste as much as I do!
I gave her a few to take to Brad, and I watched her turn around,
shove them in her mouth, then turn back to me and ask for more....
for "Dad-dy" she said! ;0)

WOW! That's awesome! We did the whole slice and bake thing. I also love the fresh squash in the background of the first picture!!
