Sidewalk Chalk

Most of my childhood memories involve the "simple things" like blowing bubbles in the driveway, picking dandelions, climbing trees......and I'm trying to remember to do the "simple things" with Emily. Sometimes the hardest part is just remembering what all those little things were. As we were shopping in Wal-Mart last week, I happened to see a box of sidewalk chalk, and of course I couldn't resist it. Emily and I sat in the driveway for quite a while drawing and leaving special chalk messages for Daddy to see when he pulled in from work.

Emily's favorite part was putting the chalk
in the box....
out of the box....
in the box.....
out of the box....

I LOVE Daddy's "beep beep." I know he was excited to see this when he got home! K

Grace LOVES sidewalk chalk!!! My dad introduced it to her a couple of months ago, and she is now obsessed with it! Did you ever pop tar bubbles in the street? That's one of the "simple"/gross things we did, and Nate still makes fun of me for it! :)

Sidewalk chalk is the greatest. If she is a budding artist, you need to try sidewalk paint! She looks like she would have a great time painting the neighborhood:-).

Oh, Emily, your drawings are so pretty. ;) I bet Mommy had fun with the chalk!
I used to LOVE sidewalk chalk. It's like I've got 50x the chalkboard! But I love her organizational skills. =) Can she fit them back properly into the box?
