We Love Grandmothers!

We feel very fortunate to have both my mom and Brad's mom so close by. Not only does Emily have two grandmothers just minutes away, she also has three great-grandmothers that visit her very frequently. While I've heard mixed reviews about living so close to family, it has definitely been a blessing for us as we've begun parenthood. I couldn't count the times we've called on our parents to come babysit......10 minutes from now! :) They have always been here for us, and Emily knows and LOVES her grandparents!

She's had lots of quality time with her grandmothers lately, and I had to share some pictures to show you just how SPOILED this girl is!! (Big Daddy, you spoil her, too, but this post is for the grandmothers!)

A few weeks ago we went to the "bean and greens" restaurant, as my mom calls it. When we put Emily in her high chair, all she had to do was look over at her Gran, and she was scooped up and held the entire meal. Gran let her do all the exploring she wanted to do during dinner.
She made a swipe at the plate of biscuits and
got a little taste for herself!
Sure, Emily. You can dig in the bowl
of butter packets.
She needed a little sip from Gran's straw....
and got some!
Guess who went home with this neat bubble
blower? Thanks, Gran!
On a side note.....
This night we went to Office Max after dinner. While standing
in line a man started chatting with us and commented on
Emily. He got a dollar out of his pocket and said she could have it
if she grabbed it and held it. Well, her piggy bank is a little fuller!

Emily's also been spending lots of time with her K. They've been working on important skills like waving, clapping, saying da da, and sticking out her tongue. (She just started this tongue trick a few days ago, and it is so cute! I'm still trying to catch it on camera.) Just like Gran, K lets her do most anything she wants, and Emily loves it!
K got Emily this shirt in Biloxi.
Emily loves to dig through K's purse. K has started
keeping toys in there for Emily to find. She loves it!
Here they are practicing bubbles. K chews bubble gum
and blows bubbles for Emily. She thinks it is wildly
funny and blows her own spit bubbles back at K.
Yep, this is exactly what it looks like. Emily will only
eat now if someone is holding her. K is always willing to
balance her and feed her, all the while dodging a very messy
mouth that keeps trying to kiss her!

Okay, Big Daddy-- I didn't have the heart to leave
you out. Here is Emily enjoying some time with her
granddad while not enjoying her Baby Mum Mum.

We are so blessed to have so many people around us who love Emily! She is one special little girl!
