Wednesday was my 28th birthday. It's baffling to me that I've been out of high school for 10 years and college for 6 years. (Am I counting that right?!) And now that Emily is in the picture, time is flying by even faster!! I always wondered what my life would be like "someday." Wonder what will be happening 10 more years from now? I don't want to think about how old I'll be then! It's funny that no matter how many years pass, I still feel exactly the same. Wonder if I'll still feel that way at 40 and 50?
I had a very special birthday. As I stumbled into the bathroom that morning, I woke up a little faster than usual when I spotted this giant message on the mirror for me!

Brad also had a package of powdered donuts for me. This is a treat that I love but rarely let myself indulge in. Half the bag is gone, and they are delicious! :)

I've been wanting some things around the house, and since I finally cashed in my Mississippi retirement money, I got two really big birthday presents-- a Roomba vacuum cleaner and a new big rug for the living room. I can't say enough about the Roomba. I LOVE IT!!! It vacuums the four front rooms every evening at 8:00. Instead of using this time to get other things done, I typically just stare at it in awe! I am also a big fan of the new rug. We found a deal on Pottery Barn's website and snatched it up! I love the fact that it is big enough to give Emmy room to play. She can spread out on it, and I don't worry about her toppling over onto the wood floor and bumping her head. It makes me feel better knowing she'll have a little carpet to crawl on when that stage begins, too.
(best pic I had of the rug....Em does make it
look even better, though!)

Brad's mom gave her annual chocolate chip cookie cake-- YUM! Mr. Ronnie and I always celebrate together since our birthdays are just 4 days apart. Happy birthday, Mr. Ronnie! I think you've got a few years on me....... :)

The very best part of my birthday was getting to enjoy our new family of three! Brad and Emily are the most wonderful blessings in my life, and I'm so thankful God has given me such precious gifts.

Later that night, I was working on a project in the kitchen, and when I glanced into the living room, this is what I saw. I think this is the most precious gift of all. I never had a real relationship with my dad, so seeing this makes me teary eyed. I'm going to love watching Emmy grow up under the wing of a daddy who loves her so much!
