PRESTO (mumble, confusion) CHANGO

Last night was one of "those" nights. Em hasn't been too keen on sleeping the last few days, and Brad had just gotten home from 36 straight hours at the hospital, so neither parental figure was too on top of his game. After feeding Emily for the second or third time during the wee hours of the morning, I put her back in her cradle and noticed her diaper had leaked in our bed. I scooped her up to change her and began waking Brad to have him start stripping the sheets off the bed. It was like something off a movie. Brad was staring at me but comprehending absolutely nothing. I asked him to take the fitted sheet off the bed and meet me in the hallway. I'd give him another sheet from the closet. I think I repeated the same instructions three times before he "came to" and said, "Where's the sheet?" With another repeat of the directions, he was good to go. When I returned from changing Emily I found him standing over the bed, staring at the corner of the sheet, still trying to get the first corner on the mattress. Poor guy! I couldn't help but laugh at him by this point. We eventually got ourselves together and -- PRESTO CHANGO-- clean sheets, clean baby, and back to bed! :)
These pictures seemed appropriate for this post. When Em is
mad about something, she tends to poke out her bottom lip
to let us know she's not happy. She can say a few things
with her eyebrows, too!

Yep, she's definitely trying to tell you something! Very expressive. Don't worry, one day you WILL get a good night's sleep again. Hang in there! She is absolutely beautiful.

What a face!! It's still so cute, even though it's not so happy!

Poor Brad!! I doubt Rob would even know where to start with changing the sheets.

I just love the first picture. So sweet even though so sad.

No one should have to work 36 hours straight. Yuck! The pictures of Emily are funny...that bottom picture you just want to hug her frustrations away.

I LOVE the last picture! It's just a cute little face and I want to squeeze on those rolls! I know everyone says it but it really does get better and easier. At least you guys can laugh about it!
