A Rough Patch

Amid all the new sweet smiles, we've been going through a little rough patch. Emily has been congested, so I'm guessing that her not feeling well has contributed to the problem. She's been having screaming periods that last and last.... I haven't found any way to console her, so it leaves me feeling like a failure of a mother! We've noticed that her fits tend to come around 9:00 p.m. and last about an hour. She doesn't exclude the daytime hours, however. One Saturday, I ended up at my in-laws' house in tears. Brad's mom returned home with us and helped me through the night. We thank God constantly for our supportive families!

Don't worry, I'm not having a total breakdown... yet! :) It sends me to tears most nights, but I'm always back to normal in the morning. (Shouldn't my hormones be evening out soon?!)

Here we are one night after she finally calmed herself. She started up full force a few minutes after the picture again. I should have gotten a picture of that so you could see my crying face, too! :) We love our sweet girl, and she's worth all the work... screaming fits and everything!

Oh, yeah. Here's my new tummy time trick! From first hand experience, I have learned it is best to wait a good hour after eating before trying this move. I ended up with a whole new accessory all down my knees, legs, and across my stomach one day. Oops!

oh so sorry! We went through this with John Mark. We burned out a vacuum running it as that was the only thing that would comfort him...I would prop it up against the couch with the brushes running in mid air and just sit there. Sounds crazy now, but it was what worked and I was willing to do anything!
She is just so adorable, I hope that this passes quickly!!

don't feel discouraged. i think every baby has their fussy time. andrew's is sometime between 5 and 7 PM. sometime in there he pretty much cries for no apparent reason. but don't worry, it only gets better from here!

When William was 2 months to 3 months nights were awful! He would scream for no reason at all. The only way we could calm him down and get him to go back to sleep was by driving him around in the car. I think every child go through this stage at some point. Hang in there! Love you!

Oh, shoot me now. That's the part I would hate. I'm so logical, I'd be like, "What is wrong with you, child? You're dry, fed, and healthy. Stop crying."
And the airplane game- always did that with my little brother. But that's so funny that she spit up all over you. =)
