I received a little Christmas present at my doctor's appointment today..... news that I have dilated to 1 cm and am 30% effaced! I know that may not seem like much to you, but to me it means I'm making progress and that is something for which I'm very thankful. Things are looking good, and the doctor said I should deliver "sooner than later." What sweet words to a very pregnant lady! :)
The nursery's still not ready-- probably won't be by the time she gets here! We have done a few things in the room, so at least we're making a little progress. Brad put the swing together this weekend, and I have started washing the bed linens, clothing, and blankets in Dreft. Boy, that stuff is expensive!!! I hope we can go back to regular detergent fairly quickly!
We're staying busy around here while we wait on Emily. We're very anxious to get her here, so keeping ourselves very active is the only way to make it through the next few weeks. Even Beau looks like he's ready for Emily to arrive. He sits like this quite a bit. Perhaps he's having a little conversation with her! :)
Belle and Beau tried out the bassinet this week. Beau seemed to like it, but Belle wasn't quite so sure. I think she knows that Emily is almost here and about to take over her reign as "princess."

You look so cute! When is your actual due date! I don't think I realized Emily might be here around Christmas! So fun! I will be thinking of you!
You look great! Life is getting ready to change!! It's not always easy, but it is very rewarding!! Take care and good luck!
Hang in there! I know those last few weeks are so hard and you are so ready to meet Emily. I remember crying everytime I left the doctor because I had not dilated or anything. I'm glad you got some hope of an early delivery. That will keep you going until the next week. You look beautiful and I know Emily will be just as pretty as you are! I will be praying for you and Brad during the coming weeks. Get ready to love her like you've never loved before! It is the most wonderful feeling, I can't even describe it.
I love the smell of Dreft it reminds of me of those baby days. Ahh. Hang in there Emily will be here before you know it.
The pic of your dogs in the crib is hilarious! I hope they adjust well!!
How exciting to be moving along. As far as the nursery being ready: has she got somewhere to sleep? If so, sounds good to me. =)
Annaleigh has very sensitive skin. I have just always used All Free and Clear (not Dreft) and it worked like a charm...no skin problems ever...and its MUCH cheaper. You and your sweet family are in our prayers.
Oh, the anticipation!! At least you have the holidays to keep you busy and distracted. My dogs used to lay close to my belly like that too . . they definitely know something is going on! Try to love on them as much as you can, because they will probably be neglected for a little while after Emily arrives. We didn't mean for it to happen, we love our puppies, but they quickly slid to the bottom of the list!
You probably won't shed a tear over the dogs. I don't know, maybe you will but I didn't feel the same about my dog the minute I came home from the hospital. She seemed so important in comparison to the little human I just brought home. It made me realize that Ellie was just a dog, not a human. Now, Len on the other hand was very sad!
You look awesome! Take care and can't wait to see pics of Emily :)
I also love peppermint and chocolate. Hershey's has 2 more yummy kisses you should try: Mint Truffle and Peppermint Candy (with little crunchies). Mmmm mmm good. =)
I don't know if you remember me . . . it's been a while from the Pi Delta days! I like Laurie, used the All free and clear (I think that's what it's called) when Lawton was little and it worked great. I just got it at Sam's and was sooo much cheaper than Dreft! Good luck in these last few weeks!
Get the All Angie...it's better and then you can do all of your laundry together. Doesn't seem like a big deal now but it will be. :) Can't wait to see her! It is nice to hear "sooner, rather than later." Have a Merry Christmas!
Oh, I'm just so excited for you! There is no way to describe how wonderful it is to hold that newborn baby in your arms - I get so excited when other people experience it for the first time. I'm thinking about you and praying for you and Emily!
You look beautiful! The nursery looks good too. I know you and Brad are ready for Emily's arrival. Can't wait to see her!
I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas! Any Emily updates?
