Papaw passed away this afternoon at 5:45. We had been with him all day and knew it was coming. We were circled around his bed, holding his hands, and telling him how much we loved him. We knew he was ready to go home, and we wanted him to know we were at peace with letting him go. Everyone got to say everything they wanted to say, and he was surrounded by those who loved him as he slipped away. As hard as it was to see him go, it was good to see all the struggling end. He was tired, and now he can rest. He no longer feels the effects of his stroke. He's walking without a limp and talking again. His frustration is gone. Please continue to remember us in prayer. We are especially worried about Mamaw as she continues on without the love of her life. Thanks to those who have left comments and called checking on us. Your compassion is very much appreciated.

I'm so sorry Angie... I'm so glad you were all able to be with him in his last moments... that's something you will never forget and will be forever glad you had those final meaningful moments with him. We'll be praying for you and your family
Hey! I'm just checking in on you- I haven't had time to get on the computer in a weekish. I'm so sorry about Papaw's passing. I'm glad he had such a long life. And a loving family. =)
i am so sorry for the loss, but i know it is a relief. i will definitely keep brad's grandmother in my prayers. i can't imagine what it would be like to be without your husband of so many years.
