Today my mom and I drove to see a friend of mine who is expecting twins. She is 30 weeks pregnant and has already been in the hospital 3 times. Because her boys are trying to make an early appearance, she isn't able to stray far from her recliner. They had a baby shower for her today, but her husband had to go and open gifts for her. We brought several presents back to her house afterwards, so she still got to open a few things. She looks fabulous and is in really good spirits. She has an IV-like contraption hooked up to her leg with medicine that pumps in every 3 hours to keep her uterus from contracting. She has to change the needle out every 5 days and has been so brave about it. I'm so proud of her! A nurse comes to check on her daily and look at the monitor readings that keep track of what's going on inside her. Say some prayers for Leigh. Although she's doing really well, it's hard for her to be confined to bed worrying about her sweet little boys!

Oh bless her heart!!! 3 cheers for Leigh!!! I could not imagine, but I understand you do WHATEVER you have to do to keep your babies safe!! I'm sure she loved the visit from you!!
Angie--my sister-in-law has twins and she had a Brethine pump from 28-37 weeks. It worked perfectly and kept her from going into early labor. Pass it along to Leigh--it will all be worth it when she has two healthy babies!
