This weekend we traveled up to Tupelo to celebrate Brad's mom's birthday. You'll never believe it, but she just turned 49! Boy, I hope I look that good when I'm 49! Her parents also drove in Friday night to surprise her, and we all went to eat at a Japanese restaurant in town. It is one of our favorite places, and we ate every last drop on our plates. Mr. Ronnie (Brad's dad) got Mrs. Kathy a weeping willow tree, so the guys stayed busy preparing the ground for it. Brad took out an old stump with a stump grinder Saturday morning, and they had to use chains to pull out old roots that were under the spot for the weeping willow. It was lots of hard work, but they secretly loved doing such manly jobs! :) We got Mrs. Kathy a flag for her little guest house. I wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for, so I ended up sewing my own flag and having it monogrammed. I had extra fabric to make a pillow for the porch swing and was really pleased with the way it all turned out. We had a great weekend and even got in a little time to hang out with my mom, sister, and niece.
Happy birthday, Mrs. Kathy! You are a wonderful mother and mother-in-law, and we are so thankful to have you! We hope you enjoyed your special day!

Hey, Congratulations on the sale of your house!!!! And his placement. Were you able to get a job easily? What grade? How exciting. =)
Impressive sewing skills Ang!
She is a sweet woman! I remember meeting her years ago when we were sophomores I think? And she made us the best homemade meal that Friday... yum! Good gifts by the way! You guys are clever!!
Hey! Thanks for the encouragement about the grade change! I thought it was time I moved on. I love Kindergarten, but it's been a rough year. I originally asked for 2nd- I wanted my class from last year. But he stuck me in 1st.
I thought I left a comment the other day...but I must have been smoking something (jk) I wanted to tell you that your flag and pillow are precious! I have been meaning to learn how to sew...
Creative gift idea, and I didn't know that you had sewing skills too. That would be a neat talent.
