Today has been one of those calm, rainy days that leaves you feeling peaceful. When I carried the dogs out at 6:00 this morning, the sky was dark and a light mist was falling. At 6:30 when I was pulling out of the driveway, a steady stream of rain had begun to fall, and the sky was still dark. My classroom felt cool and calm when I came in, and I think my children sensed the same thing, because as they entered the room, they unpacked and got started on their work a little slower than usual. I moved a little slower, too, and that second cup of coffee tasted so good going down.
The sky is still dark, and the rain is still falling slowly. I hear the pitter-patter outside the window, and I'm realizing that I haven't felt this tranquil in months. I'm so thankful for these quiet, dark days. Somehow today I've slowed down enough to enjoy my moments and take in a few deep breaths.
Good night, all. I think I'll go grab a mug of hot tea, curl up in a blanket, and flip through a magazine before tucking in early.

I feel the same way! It rained in St.Louis all day, and I had a nice relaxing day off work to be calm and enjoy it. Good to see you through blogging!
Well written, Angie. I'm thankful God created this world to have changing weather and seasons.
