Brad went to a Japanese market this afternoon and got everything from sushi rice to seaweed. He got a little tutoring from the lady at the market, and this evening I got my own private maki-zushi (hand-rolled sushi) lesson. It was so much fun and such an inexpensive meal! If you like sushi, you should definitely try making it on your own sometime.

This is not Brad's first time to cook up a feast in the kitchen. I'm not an avid cooker.... I'm not even registered in the Cooking 101 class. After three and a half years, I think Brad got hungry. Lately he has been trying all sorts of yummy recipes. I am loving his new hobby! So, who's head chef at your house?
(Top)Chicken Parmesan with potatoes au gratin
(Middle)Cornish hen, fried green tomatoes, and fresh green beans with a hollandaise sauce
(Bottom)Kabobs with fresh veggies from the fruit stand

Oh, you are one lucky girl. A husband who cooks. We should all be so lucky! I'm the "head chef" at our house, but I am not much of a cook either. I'm working on it though!
wow. i wish my husband would cook for me. he can make great mashed potatoes, but nothing like what Brad has done. lucky you!
I've never been brave enough to try Sushi so I'll take your word on the subject. I must say I'm glad someone else's husband is the main cook. Mark is a much better cook than I am and he enjoys it much more too. But since I'm at home now I feel like I should cook more - hmm maybe I'll venture out and try something besides the few recipes I can make. :) Please tell Brad the food looks great! I'm soo impressed.
Holy Cow! Can Brad come to my house???? That all looks delicious! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sushi! Well done! yum!
Go Brad!! I'm very impressed. Too bad he didn't cook for us in Royal Arms : ) Over the past year or so I've started to really like sushi. I had my first experience at a sushi bar last weekend. I'll need a lesson on how to make it though!
You've gotta love men who cook! Charlie has learned a lot over the past three years, as have I. Still much more practice required for both of us. My thing is I like to try different things rather than mastering one.
Hi, Been enjoying reading your blog. IF Brad will cook---- you better keep that guy. Wish John would cook like that for Rachel. But he keeps holding out that she will cook for him. :( Those meals look delish!. Wish you could see Rachel pg. She is sooo cute and just glows. Miss you girl. Come to see us. I will go see Mandi and baby Preston next week. Love ya, Darlene G.
Now, you know I have my own set of chopsticks so you won't have to set an extra place next time you have sushi :)
