Winter Wonderland

We got tons of snow this winter! It started the evening of January 9th, and it just kept coming. I hadn't seen that much snow since I was about 5, and it was just beautiful! The city closed down, and we spent the day playing outside. My mom gave Hunter lots of snuggles inside while we built snowmen and castles outside. My sister and her family got to come over and help with all our building. Emily's favorite part of having snow? Licking it! :0)

Starting work on the snow castle
Snow angels with Mommy- Several of her books
talk about snow angels, and I finally got to REALLY
show her what they were!

She kept throwing herself down in the snow and
just giggling.....and then 'licking' the snow. :0)

Back inside to warm up and throw our mittens
and socks into the dryer for a while.
Hunter didn't mind just watching out the window.
Superdad!
Eating.....'licking' the snow with Betsy
Even the street slush was fun!

Working on our giant snowman.....while Emily
continued to lick the snow :0)
Our snowman collapsed under its own weight after
about an hour. Oh, well- it was still fun!
Some kids rode through the neighborhood that night.
Every house had four-wheeler tracks in the yard and
smashed snowmen. This happened to our second biggest one.
Emily thought that was very mean and told us, "I bet
their mommy gave them a spanking!"
Hunter was asleep, so we didn't wake
him for the picture.

Robert, Betsy, and Alicia
Check out that snow castle!
Snuggles with Gran
See why I couldn't bear to wake him up for the
picture? How cute is that?!
They liked my snow cream!!
A quick family picture on the front porch
Emily (almost 3) and Hunter (4 months)
