Backtrack to Our Company

I've had these pictures saved on the desktop for two months now, and I keep meaning to document this on the blog, but as usual, I am always running behind. :0)

We moved into our new house back in the middle of April. About one week after we moved in, our friends, Ashley and Jennifer, moved in upstairs. We met them in med school and also got to do residency here in Tupelo with them. They were soon to be leaving to do a fellowship in Boston for two years and had sold their house. They were putting lots of money into renting an apartment, and their apartment neighbors were heavy smokers. Since Jennifer was 7 months pregnant, the smoke was a problem, and they were really hoping to save up some money for their very expensive new life in Boston that was just around the corner. ($200 a month just to park their car!!!)

We had found a buyer for our old house and had found a deal on a new house a few months before we were really "ready," so when Brad approached Ashley about having them rent the upstairs for a few months, it was a win-win for all of us! Funny how God always provides exactly what you need, huh?!

Anyway....they moved in a week after us. Jennifer's mom came to stay for the end of her pregnancy, and before you know it, we had a newborn living in our house! We watched them trek down the stairs in the middle of the night after Jennifer's water broke, and baby Kenzie was born the next morning on June 12th.

Emily, of course, was thrilled to have a newborn in the house. She is LOVING babies right now, and has to go visit all the babies at church. She talks about babies all the time and can't wait to get her little brother here.

Ashley, Jennifer, Kenzie, and Grandma Peggy left two weeks ago and are now settling in in Boston. It's strange to have the house to ourselves again. We weren't quite sure what to do with ourselves the first few days!

I wanted to share some pictures from our time with Ashley and Jennifer. We miss you guys and can't wait to have you back in Tupelo in two more years. And get ready....Emily is ready to get on the plane with baby Hunter and come see y'all next summer! :0)

This was taken back on April 29th. Emily and Ashley
have come a LONG way since they first met. We have
a picture of Emily and Ashley--this same side-by-side pose--
taken when she was a few months old, and she had the
WORST scowl on her face. She had something against him
at first, but now she loves him and puts on quite a show for him!

Mother's Day weekend, Ashley and Brad DROVE to
Boston to scout out an apartment for when they moved.
Jennifer was too pregnant to go, so she had to really
trust that these two would pick out something good!

One of our many cook-outs on the grill (May 26th)--
Emily was pretending to be a dog in case you were
wondering about the leash...... :0)

Baby Kenzie comes home from the hospital! (June 14th)
Can you tell that Emily was a wee bit excited?!

Day of Brad and Ashley's graduation from
residency (June 25th)--
Emily telling Kenzie bye before they started the
long drive to their new home in Boston

And almost as hard.....telling their cat, Son, goodbye
