Nesting

No, it's not me that's nesting. My house is in desperate need of me to "nest," but it's just not happening. All the birds have been nesting at our house......under the bush, in the gutter, under a tree in the side yard.....and today we discovered a new nest with 4 new eggs. I'm starting to feel like we live in a bird sanctuary. With Belle and Beau constantly chasing them, you'd think the birds would pick somewhere else, but our house continues to be the hot spot for hatching. Here are some pictures from the May 14th births in our backyard. We happened to catch it at just the right time and got to see the babies before the parents shooed them out of the nest. I had no idea there were some birds that could walk immediately after birth!

The only piece of egg we saw....what do they
do with those things after they hatch?

The parents started shooing the babies from the nest
one by one. One parent would distract with a "broken
wing" dance out in the grass while the other directed the
baby. If we moved, they would someone tell the baby bird
to crouch down in the grass. It was amazing to watch!
