Present Tense

I've been so far behind on the blog lately that it's made me feel like I was living in past tense. You know-- "Back in July, we....." and "Four weeks ago, we....."

I'm excited to finally post something in present tense. These are actually recent happenings and pictures of what's been going on. Ahhhhh- it feels nice to be caught up again!

September 2nd-- Little People Barn & Visits from her Great Aunt Ellen

She loves playing with her barn and animals!
She's starting to look so much like a toddler
now days. (sniffle, sigh)

Aunt Ellen has started bringing her candy
every time she comes to visit. Check out Emily's
face! Think she's excited about it?!

September 3rd-- Potty Time!
Emily has been waking up with a dry diaper several times a week, so I introduced her to the potty. The first time I tried it, I sat her on the real potty first thing in the morning. She was all excited about it until she actually started to tee tee. For some reason, it scared her to death, she threw her arms around my neck, and she wasn't so sure about the big potty anymore. We bought her this little pink potty, and she loved sitting on it without her diaper the first night (shown below). There was no tee tee, but she did like it. The next day, however, she was more skeptical. She'll sit on it if she's in the right mood but only if she's wearing her diaper. We're not pushing it at this point.

Telling me the tee tee goes
"He- uh" (here)

September 6th-- Ole Miss vs. Memphis (?????)
Clearly I'm not into football- I can't even remember who the Rebels were playing! :0) Don't tell Brad! We had the Sweeneys and Brad's dad and brother over after church to watch the game. Apparently they did awful during the first half and then cranked it up at the end.

We knew the men wouldn't pause for a picture mid-game,
so Ginger and I just set up the camera.

During a break, they agreed to pose for us.
Thanks, guys!

The Rebels are #6 now!

Emily had to change into her cheerleading
outfit that K and Big Daddy got her! You might
see this again at Halloween....we'll see.

Emily took the term "touch-down"
very literally! :0)

Whew! All the excitement wore our girl out!
