I know my last few posts have seemed so "down and out," but I really need to vent. I feel like someone is out to get me! Two days ago, when Brad and I were pulling out of our neighborhood, we noticed that something looked a little different at the entrance. Want to know what it was? Someone had taken down our "For Sale by Owner" signs, and they were no where to be found! The signs were gone from both entrances, and the only thing we can figure out is that someone in the neighborhood took them! Why?! Brad went up to city hall yesterday and asked if there was some kind of ordinance against these signs at neighborhood entrances, but there's not. So, what's the deal? We're feeling very beaten down with this whole house selling thing.
Now on to better stories....
This morning, one of my students (you probably know who I'm talking about) came into the room and handed me a cell phone. She told me that her mother had sent the phone so I could copy down her neighbors' phone numbers in case of emergency. What?!
1. How do I know which people are neighbors out of the 30 or so numbers in her contact list?
2. Why wouldn't she just write the numbers down herself and send the paper to me?
3. Why am I expected to make these children perform at the "Advanced" and "Proficient" levels on state tests when their parents do these things that don't portray a strong sense of common sense?
(Roll of eyes) Really? Am I crazy to think that people can reason some of these things out?
About an hour after the phone was brought in, it started making this high pitched tone, and I couldn't get it to stop. I had "had it" and made the child take the phone to the office. I told her that somebody had to come pick that thing up, because my nerves just couldn't handle it today! :)
Whew, what a day!

Oh Ang! Sorry your having a few bad days. I wish I could sing you Tomorrow or Chin Up or some other fun cheery song. Hope Sunny Days filled with sold homes, well behaved kids, and parents that have a clue come your way very soon. :)
Wow. First of all, I see some people out on Saturdays taking down all the garage sale signs. It irritates. I stopped and asked one time, and they didn't like the clutter. What in the world?! Who made them queen??? You know, it's probably just a neighbor that thinks you're hot and doesn't want you to move. =) Just keep the signs coming.
Second. What in the world?! How on earth did the phone thing happen? I'd be like, are you kidding me?? I hope you wrote that mom a tasty note.
Hope today goes great! =)
I have tried to leave a comment twice and it won't update. It basically went like this, in short, raising kids and parents, never expected that, huh? You'll be a seasoned teacher at a young age.
sometimes you wonder how the kids turned out half way normal when you meet the parents. sorry about the signs, that's not very nice.
